Songs of the Spirit | Psalms for the Seasons of Life

Calling on the book by Howard Macy, Rhythms of the Inner Life, this series looks at seven recurrent themes in The Book of Psalms, all having to do with the soul’s formation under God’s grace.  The Psalms provide us with a vocabulary of the soul; they help us give voice to our deepest desires and struggles as well as our transcendent joys. The seven themes are not so much steps toward God but are often experienced as inner “seasons” or “rhythms” in our walk with Him.
