the passage IS ITSELF a model…for spiritual teaching. This is how the Bible so often functions. It rehearses events. It reduces those events to teachings/lessons. AND it then calls us to respond to those ideas…to practice.

So…if you want to use the Bible…to grow…to be enriched and changed: rehearse…reduce (to a teaching) and respond – rehearse/reduce/respond.
