Insecurity & Grace
We are going to meet one character who takes a kind of standard approach to God i.e., the basic religious outlook. AND we’ll meet two more characters who have actually met God and have had the standard approach to religion turned upside down in their own lives and hearts.
The first person sees God’s favor and blessing as something for which you qualify or earn. The other men see that they are not qualified and never could be, but that God ONLY gives his favor or blessing as a gift.
What would OUR lives look like if we believe either of these two diametrically opposed ways? How will it affect us if we think we are paying for grace OR what if we see blessing as a gift paid for by God himself?
Today’s points are:
1) Symptoms in people who pay for grace
2) Symptoms in people who receive grace as a gift
3) Why and how is this church so insistent on pointing out the difference?
