A Reflection Before The Service
That was a memorable day to me, for it made great changes in me. But, it is the same with any life. Imagine one selected day struck out of it, and think how different its course would have been. Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.

Every occupation has its own honor before God. Ordinary work is a divine vocation or calling. In our daily work no matter how important or mundane we serve God by serving the neighbor and we also participate in God's on -going providence for the human race.
God is milking the cows through the vocation of the milkmaid.

The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Come and see what the LORD has done, the desolations He has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
He burns the shields with fire. He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be
exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
