8.30.26
Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together, For I will turn their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow. I will fill the soul of the priests with abundance, And My people will be satisfied with My goodness," declares the LORD. Jeremiah 31:13-14

DP: You’ll find me and my opinions in a lot of my songs. But most of it is based on love, acceptance and lifting people up. I ask God every day to let me be a blessing to mankind and to uphold Him, to glorify Him and that ’s how I go about my day.
Interviewer: No political rallies for you, then?
DP: No political rallies for me. My joke is: my daddy was a Republican, my mama was a Democrat, and I’m a “Hypo-crat”!

Hope is one of the Theological virtues. This means that a continual looking forward to the eternal world is not (as some modern people think) a form of escapism or wishful thinking, but one of the things a Christian is meant to do.
It does not mean that we are to leave the present world as it is. If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next. The Apostles themselves, who set on foot the conversion of the Roman Empire, the great men who built up the Middle Ages, the English
Evangelicals who abolished the Slave Trade, all left their mark on Earth, precisely because their minds were occupied with Heaven. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this. Aim at Heaven and you will get earth “thrown in”: aim at earth and you will get neither...
— C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
Q 24 How does Christ execute the office of a prophet? A. Christ executes the office of a prophet, in revealing to us, by his word and Spirit, the will of God for our salvation?
Q 25 How does Christ execute the office of a priest? A. Christ executes the office of a priest, in his once offering up of himself a sacrifice to satisfy divine justice, and reconcile us to God, and in making continual intercession for us.
Q 26 How does Christ execute the office of a king? A. Christ executes the office of a king, in subduing us to himself, in ruling and defending us, and in restraining and conquering all his and our enemies.

The Call To Worship
The Call To Worship
Jeremiah 31.10 -14
Hear the word of the LORD, O nations,
And declare in the coastlands afar off,
And say, "He who scattered Israel will gather him
And keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock."
For the LORD has ransomed Jacob
And redeemed him from the hand of him who was stronger than he.
They will come and shout for joy on the height of Zion,
And they will be radiant over the bounty of the LORD --
Over the grain and the new wine and the oil,
And over the young of the flock and the herd;
And their life will be like a watered garden,
And they will never languish again.
Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,
And the young men and the old, together,
For I will turn their mourning into joy
And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.
I will fill the soul of the priests with abundance,
And My people will be satisfied with My goodness," declares the LORD.
