The very word “free” has GOT to be one of the most frequently used words in advertising; it jumps off the package or the poster or the website. Advertisers KNOW it gets our attention… BUT that’s also the problem with the word – it’s a sales-pitch word and there are strings attached… Maybe, you’ve seem/heard the Christian life misrepresented as a kind of bait-and-switch – it’s “free” but then you have to pay-to-play and DO your part.

So how are we going to navigate this – how’re we going to take seriously this free offer when we’ve been told, “there’s no such thing as a free lunch!”… And how is this paradox really the key to a life of discipleship and satisfaction? Let’s look at
