So Me Help God (Redux)

Today’s sermon has a strange title because… it looks out of order: normally those four words say, “So Help Me, God” NOT “So Me Help God”…but alas…THIS is not a typo. The title is deliberately pointing to a flaw in this dysfunctional patriarchal family – and the flaw showed up in a small variation of sequence – like getting your password wrong by one letter…and that little rearrangement had huge repercussions that actually continue to this very day… BUT IF “So Me Help God” can get back to the intended order of “So Help Me, God” – if we get the Gospel…it changes everything.

Let’s look at
#1: a family that tried to help God
#2: The INTENDED sequence of the spiritual life and
#3: How the restored sequence might affect our own imperfect families (one example).
