…what happens next is perhaps the best-known event in the whole Hebrew Bible – the famous crossing of the Red Sea (or Reed Sea). AND…looking at this archetype event and the celebration that follows we are ONCE AGAIN clued in to WHAT makes the Gospel, the Bible’s basic message…what makes it unique – not only different from secularism and unbelief but also from religion. We’ll begin to see some unexpected elements in the story helping us to see how GRACE really functions and differs from morality and self-help and skepticism and every other human program – a totally distinct way of life.
