…a central plank in Jesus Christ’s training program – freedom from the opinions of others, especially freedom from the prevailing views of the establishment. There is, IN THE WAY OF JESUS CHRIST, a non-conformist attitude.

It’s not rebellion (though it may LOOK like that to observers)…it’s not novelty for novelty’s sake (though it may LOOK like that to observers). It’s actually a way of relating to things conventional and progressive, things conservative and things liberal, things old and things new. And I can’t help thinking that modern disciples of Jesus Christ…if they could GET this attitude or spirit of freedom…they could be a real gift to our society where people find themselves on one side or the other…and unable to relate to differing views.
