The suppliant we meet today is found in Matthew, Mark AND Luke… They all put this pitiful scene directly after the spiritual mountaintop experience we looked at last week, The Transfiguration. This father’s sad situation stands in STARK contrast with the peak experience of Peter, James and John.

They go from MOUNTAINTOP GLORY to the VALLEY of MISERY in one JARRING moment.
