The Vandalism of Shalom: Sin

Sin is a dark topic, but it’s a darkness that allows us to see other, brighter topics… We try to avoid it (unless we’re talking about other people’s sins) but either obsessing over sin or denial of sin are both harmful extremes (as we’ll see) and Leviticus won’t allow us to go either way. It makes us face it SO we can see its solution .

In John Steinbeck’s, East of Eden, he wrote ‘There’s more beauty in the truth even if it is dreadful beauty.” So, today, the TRUTH about sin and the dreadful beauty that contrasts with that truth.

Starting with Steinbeck’s title (which he took from the Book of Genesis) let’s look at:
1) Out of Egypt but East of Eden
2) Drawn to God and Repelled By God
3) Worship In Form and Worship with Feeling
