Today we meet this king, a man named Saul… and his promising debut.

It’s a strange story and yet there are whispers in it and echoes and symbols that challenge our way of reading the Bible. In this episode we see the uniqueness of God and His ways of equipping us for a life that’s new and fresh and unique.

These events (chapters 9-10) and characters and customs seem to have NO resemblance to our modern lives… BUT if you read BACKWARDS… i.e. from the New Testament looking back (Richard Hays) you see pictures of big realities in the life of true spirituality. Let’s simply look at:
1) Story
2) Symbol
3) Service (how these weird episodes can actually serve/help us live in new and liberated ways)
