The House of Rahab

The early Christian Church saw this excluded woman as a kind of prophetic figure… to many of the Church Fathers, Rahab and her house was a TYPE or symbol representing the Christian Church made up of Jews/Gentiles, of (a few) high-born kings but mainly people with a past…people once excluded but NOW embraced.
And IN our own day…when it appears that some are questioning whether we really NEED the Church, Rahab is for US, a fascinating person but more so a powerful symbol of why the world and why YOU
need the church.
